We had recently adopted a fresh product strategy: “A connected set of tools that become more valuable the more you use them.” In other words, what would it look like for Elite to become far more self-referencing, more data-aware, and connected from one feature to another. This is our visualization of that idea. I, along with another designer and our respective product trios, were tasked with creating this 3 to 5 year visiontype.
As with most visiontypes, it’s purpose was primarily to gain internal and stakeholder alignment, emphasizing that it was a direction, not a destination. As we gained internal agreement on that direction, we would begin shipping small “slices” of customer value toward that direction, learn from the customer, then pivot accordingly. We were able to get alignment where it was needed and we have already begun thin-slicing and shipping the value.
